Disaster recovery and business continuity refer to processes and procedures designed to avoid mission-critical business interruptions or data loss during any type of disaster. With data availability now a key competitive factor for all businesses, data disaster recovery and backup mechanisms are essential business concerns.
Chance and uncertainty are part of the world we live in. We cannot predict what tomorrow will bring or whether a disaster will occur—but this does not mean that businesses cannot put processes in place to mitigate these risks. Compromises to data security represent one of the largest risks businesses face in the global work place, whether it relates to lost of corporate data, lost laptops, removable media such at Tapes, hard drives or other plug-and-play storage device.
